Weight Loss For Dogs

Dog obesity is becoming an epidemic, just like human obesity. It seems that not only are we getting larger, but out pets are too.

But unlike us, dogs really are at the mercy of other people. In other words, dogs will only get fat if you let them in most cases. So weight loss for dogs becomes your responsibility as a pet owner.

So why do dogs get fat? There is no mystery to it:

1. They eat too much

This is all too common, with people feeding table scraps or simply just feeding too much food. It doesn't take a dog long to pack on weight when they eat too much.

2. Lack of Exercise

Most dogs love to exercise but with our busy lifestyles we tend to spend less time walking them (and ourselves!). Just like people, dogs need regular exercise.

Make a note to take your dog for at least 30 minutes of fast walking per day - even if its early in the morning or at night time. It will benefit you as well!

What else can I do to control my dog's weight?

There are a number of dog food diets on the market, but many of these consist of feeding your pet solely dry biscuit. Whilst this may make him drop weight, it is not satisfying nor is it natural.

Your dog may even become depressed from the bland food; after all, food is one of the most important things to a dog.

Another option is a product like SlenderPet. Rather than acting as a diet replacement, it consists of just a capsule which you give your dog twice daily (half a capsule for small dogs and cats). You can open the capsule and mix the ingredients through the food if you are not comfortable administering pills.

The active ingredients of SlenderPet are all natural and include:

Fucus vesiculosis - a sea vegetable containing many minerals

Curcuma longa - helps liver function

Sylibum marianus (Milk Thistle) - herbal liver tonic

Taraxacum officinale (Dandelion - contains many vitamins and minerals

Using SlenderPet in conjunction with a smart diet that consists of raw foods and high quality dog food, coupled with regular exercise, will ensure that your dog returns to his regular weight in no time.
